DESIGN: ETEC 644 PROJECT
My project was on developing instructional materials for my AP Calculus AB students to review for the AP exam. I developed instructional material to review the topic of position of a particle (an application of the integral concept). Below are my work for the Analysis, Design, Development, and Formative Evaluation phase of the instructional design process.
ANALYSIS
I wrote an Analysis Report that included literature review about the topic of my project, information that I gathered about my targeted audience and their needs, and the goals for my project.
DESIGN
I narrowed down the scope of my project into a single review lesson. I wrote a learning objective and wrote a learning objective for the lesson. I identified the structure of the instructional content. I also utilized learning theories and instructional design theories to make decisions about motivation strategies, media selection, and instructional activities. One of the most important item that I focused on was the post assessment for the lesson because I wanted to make sure that the assessment assesses the learning objective of the lesson.
DEVELOPMENT
In this phase, I continued to applied learning theories and instructional design theory to develop my instructional materials. Below is my development paper and the link to the page that I added on my class website to house some my instructional materials for my students. The only items that were not included on the website were the solutions to the Handout / Practice Problems and the End of the Lesson Assessment.
IMPLEMENTATION
In this course, we did not do the implementation phase due to time constraint.
EVALUATION
In this course, we only performed a formative evaluation. For my project, I utilized the expert review and one-to-one evaluation. The purpose for my formative evaluation was to gather information about the intrinsic component of my project. My formative evaluation paper also contained a reflection what I learned in this course, challenges I encountered, and how I plan to use the knowledge that I learned in this course.
